Pro-invest Group speaks at Navigating Hospitality’s Journey to Net Zero webinar by Cundall
Our ESG Manager – APAC represented Pro-invest Group and the Group’s commitment to ESG in the hotel industry on the panel ‘Navigating Hospitality’s Journey to Net Zero’, hosted by Cundall. With a global audience, Pro-invest Group spoke alongside hotel sustainability leaders on trends, initiatives and case studies covering Australia, Asia, and the Middle East & North Africa regions.
The hotel industry accounts for approximately 1% of global carbon emissions and is at a critical point in its journey towards net zero. Pro-invest Group together with representatives from Cundall MENA region, Kerzner International and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council spoke on the webinar, ‘Navigating Hospitality’s Journey to Net Zero’ in July 2024. The event was hosted by Cundall. The event offered the unique opportunity to gain practical insights into achieving sustainability benefits that not only reduce operational costs but also enhance reputation and future-proof asset value in the net zero era. Real world case studies were shared covering Asia, Australia, and the UAE.
Pro-invest Group spoke to its strong ESG track record that it has established since inception, speaking to how its ESG journey has evolved over the years spanning its first, second and third hotel funds, coupled with the learnings it has gained and key partnerships that it has made along the way. Pro-invest Group additionally spoke to key case studies such as its Holiday Inn Express Melbourne Southbank lifting its NABERS in design and operation from a 4.5-star NABERS Energy to a 5-star NABERS Energy, its framework surrounding targeting 5-stars NABERS Energy for its Australian based hotels under its second fund, coupled with lifting its Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders hotel’s NABERS Energy rating from 2.5-stars to 4.5-stars during repositioning efforts. Pro-invest Group additionally spoke to its journey with third-party operational sustainability certification, coupled with pursuing alignment to the Net Zero Science Based Targets Initiative standards.
